New Product Launch Marketing Plan [Videos]

This tutorial is all about new product launch marketing plan for affiliates. Make sure you watch all the videos below so you can get a good grasp of everything. There’s tons of things here you will find very useful for your email marketing business.

Affiliate Email Promotions

In the first video below Daniel explains the two main types of affiliate email promotions. These 2 main types covered are the hard sell and the soft sell.

The Hard Sell

The big parts of the hard sell are scarcity and urgency. This is what gets people to take action and buy your product. If you use his kind of hard sell all the time, you’re going to beat down your email list.

So you want to be careful and tactical when you deploy it. You also want to be strategical about it, rather than tactical.

The best way to pull off a hard sale is to use the 72 hour sale. This is hands down the best way to do a hard sale. We’re going to look at how to execute this in the next video.

The Soft Sell

You can use the soft sell to

  • Create hype and anticipation for the launch
  • To build an ever green promotion
  • To build a relationship with your niche by providing value

I’m going to be show you my affiliate product launch sequence. This is actually something that I developed off of some other strategies out there to sell some of my first ever affiliate products.

The big part of this is you can use it to create hype anticipation for your launch. Even if you’re not doing a launch, it can be an evergreen promotion, which is big.

This means that you can go and put this promotion into your email list or your autoresponder and use it as a followup sequence.

So if you have three of these affiliate product launch sequences, whenever a new prospect comes in they’ll see sequence 1, sequence 2, sequence 3, and that’s the key to really having a good followup sequence.

And then also you’re building a relationship with your list by providing value. The way that we’re doing this kind of selling is what some people like to call the sideways sales letter.

So you’re doing content and then you’re teaching, and then that’s kind of when the pitch comes in. So instead of a sales letter where you go down, you’re kind of going across with the videos.

It’s really an efficient method. It’s a great way to create your own content and build a relationship with the list even if you’re selling affiliate products. So that being said, let’s go to the next video.

The Affiliate Product Launch sequence

I’ve mapped this out in a few different ways to try to make it as easy as possible as I can to explain all the moving pieces.

Now, I don’t want you to feel overwhelmed. There’s a lot to this campaign and that’s part of what makes this so resourceful.

You have so many things that you can kind of template and copy, and use for your own campaign. So I’m really taking a lot of the hard work out of it for you.

With a big sequence like this, there’s a lot of moving parts. So these are all the different pieces that we have.

As you can see in the screenshot below, I tried to get a little cute and tried to put some drawing into it, instead of you looking at the same old basic boring wireframe.

The Affiliate Product Launch Sequence

So what we have in the screenshot is the entirety of the sequence. So we have video #1, #2, #3 and #4. We have the first blog post and the second blog post, and we have all 10 emails.

And then lastly of course in the middle is our sales page shown in green. This is the money page as they call it.

The Linking Structure

I want to show you the linking structure and then I’m also going to go over some of the materials.

See the initial linking structure for the pages in the screenshot below.

Linking the pages

Video #1

We have video #1 which, as you can see, has no arrow coming from it because it’s going nowhere. The reason for that is that it is a squeeze page. It has an opt in page. Here we’re trying to capture lead information with this first video.

Now the great thing about that is you can use it as the front of your funnel or you can just capture emails for your VIP list. Those are the people who are really interested in the product and you can email them a little bit harder.

Videos #2 & #3

Now videos #2 and #3 are blueprint #1 and blueprint #2 respectively. Video #2 links to video #3 as you can see on the above screenshot.

Video #3 links to the sales page as does video #3, video #4, blog post #1 and blog post #2. This is done to provide a little bit of content or a little bit of a warm up initially. And then after that they are all going towards the sales page.

Now let’s check out the emails.

Linking the Emails

Linking the Emails

With the emails, email #1 and email #2 are going towards that first initial video #1. Email #3 is going to video #2. But you’ll see that email #4 goes to video #4. The reason for that being, as mentioned before, video #2 links to video #3.

Now we also have email #5 linking to the blog post #1, email #6 where linking to blog post #2. Then emails #7 through #10 are all going to be linking to the sales page. for that kind of final hard sales push.

So it’s kind of funny because I didn’t really notice this until now. We have all the 4 blue arrows going to videos initially. Then we have 2 black arrows, which are both going blog post content.

Then we have another 4 arrows which are all going to the sales page. So it kind of looks uniform there. That wasn’t intentional. That’s just how the sequence came about and how the sequence was developed.

So now let’s look at some of the sales material within the sequence.

A Closer Look at the Sequence

sales material within the sequence

The above screenshot shows our high level overview of the affiliate product launch sequence. These are all the materials we need to create this sequence if you’re going to fall with the way that I did it.

Now of course you can kind of, you know, mix and match and create it your own way and you might see that certain pieces fit better. You don’t want to go as indepth.

Just the videos #1, #2, and #3 can have an excellent effect and you can get a lot of sales. The method is there. But now if you have all the materials together, you’re definitely going to see better performance.

So we have video #1, video #2, video #3, video #4, blog post #1 and blog post #2. Part of the reason why I wanted to show you in this format is you can see this is an older campaign.

I originally started this campaign around 2008 when we didn’t have Leadpages and Clickfunnels. We didn’t have these beautiful squeeze page template creators. I barely knew basic html.

As you can see, the most I did was center the text and change the font color and then throw a link underneath. And same thing with the blog posts.

So there’s nothing fancy here. It’s not the fanciness that sold it. It’s that good marketing and good marketing will out beat fancy looking stuff any day of the week.

These days we have amazing tool so you have no excuse to make your new product launch marketing plan. But I want you to just get a feel for how ugly this is, but it still works so well.

Watch the second tutorial video above to learn how to break down each of these different 4 videos at the high level.

  1. Launching a product is one of the biggest keys to success when selling on Amazon. It’s all about putting your product in a position to succeed in front of the buyer who most wants to buy it.

  2. I learned so much by reading your post today and watching your informative video’s. I never even thought in terms of hard sells and soft sells until today.

I really need to get an autoresponder going as I am sure this is where most marketers make most of their money. It is far easier to sell to an existing customer than it is to somebody who is visiting your website for the first time.

I love your ideas on warming your prospects up by getting them excited about a product before presenting and actually making the sale.

    • You’re right Michael. Most experienced internet marketers made a lot more money from selling to their existing customer base. Thank you so much for your comments. Please come back again soon to read more awesome topics like this.
